666 technology roundup
Here is a sampling of stories from the last two weeks showing human tracking technology in action.
In Britain, a mom is using GPS to keep her eye on her son’s gap year trip to Australia. At any time she can sit down at a computer and know her son’s location within 15 feet.
At Aoyama Gakuin Univeristy in Japan, the GPS units in iPhones are being used to track attendance of students. The school passed out iPhones with a special attendance application on them to all pupils. When students enter a classroom they activate the application, which registers the GPS location with the university.
Last week, the Oakland city council approved a proposal that would issue ID cards to all residents, becoming the third city in the United States to do so. Oakland’s close neighbor, San Francisco, began an ID program in January. The Federal Real ID ACT mandates that all driver’s license’s and ID cards contain chips holding personal information (and potentially be track-able by satellites) no later than May 11, 2011–the same date as the policy goes into effect in Europe.
In London, Alzheimer’s patients are now being issued shoes with GPS chips in them, so they can be tracked in real time.
For many other examples of this technology at work, check out the mark-of-beast tag section. The Antichrist and False Prophet will desire to use this technology to track every human being on the planet (Revelation 13:16-18), perhaps even using poison filled chips to kill those who do not follow the Antichrist completely.
