US embraces peversion, shuns Christ

May 6th, 2009

More trouble for the United States as we continue to fulfill apparent prophecies about the West.

The recent “hate crimes” legislation passed by the House has come under attack for extending protections to such perverted practices as bestiality and pedophilia, while specifically denying protections to preachers, Christians, and missionaries. This bill would make it a punishable offense to “offend” someone with an “alternative lifestyle,” as defined by the American Psychiatric Association. This includes homosexuals, exhibitionists, those who have sex with animals, and even groups that promote sex with children, such as NAMBLA. It also makes it a potential felony to “touch in a harassing manner” any of these now-protected citizens, which some fear would mean that if a straight man fought off a sexual attack from a gay man, the heterosexual could be charged with a felony.

Further, it holds pastors accountable for the actions of their congregation. If a loon in the pew decides to punch a cross-dresser, the church leaders can be charged with a felony. This led Representative Virginia Foxx to declare this legislation to be a “thought crime” bill.

Also, Maine has passed a same-sex marriage bill, making the state the fifth to allow gay marriage. It will be signed into law within 2 days.

Meanwhile, Christ is being shunned by our elected public officials. We told you last month about the White House demands that the “name of Jesus” be covered when the President speaks. Now President Obama is stepping back from the National Day of Prayer, refusing to even send a representative from the White House (i.e., a staff member) to the National Day of Prayer event held on Capitol Hill and attended by most congressmen.

In Florida, a move that would have allowed Christians to get license plates with an image of Jesus or a cross against a stained glass backdrop were stopped by the ALCU and Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

The ACLU of Florida obtained from the state legislature this proposed design for a Florida license plate depicting the cruxifiction of Jesus.

The United States appears to be depicted in Scripture in Isaiah 18, Jeremiah 50-51, and Revelation 18. Among the many descriptions given we find a nation who was founded on God, but has systematically removed Him from society, growing worse and worse as time goes on (Isaiah 18:2, 7). There is even rejoicing that the Godly heritage of the nation is covered up (Jeremiah 50:11).

Because of great sin (Jeremiah 50:14) and the turning away from God (Jeremiah 50:29), monumental judgment is coming (Jeremiah 50:28; 51:24). This will come in the form of missiles (Jeremiah 50:14, 29; 51:3, 11) launched by Russia (Jeremiah 50:9, 41; 51:48) and perhaps even Iran (Jeremiah 51:11, 28). The United States, if depicted as we think they are, will be completely destroyed (Jeremiah 50:13, 26).
